LAHORE – The government has decided that Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) will now probe the issue of purchase of 55 faulty locomotives instead of National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique said that NAB will not investigate the issue as the government has reservations with the investigation agency. “Cases in NAB remain pending for six years”, minister said.
He said that the letter to investigate the purchase of faulty locomotives was sent to FIA. He said that Chinese engineers had accepted that there were faults in the design of the cheap 10,000 horse-powered locomotives.
