DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The police on Monday claimed to have rounded up 417 suspected persons including 25 proclaimed offenders during search and strike operationsand snap checking in the district in the month of July, an official said.
District Police Officer Yasir Afridi said that the police carried out 38 search and strike operations and snap checking in parts of the district and made the arrests. He said the arrested suspects included 10 Afghan nationals who were arrested for staying illegally in the district.
He said the police recovered 96 weapons of different range, more than 851 kilogram of hashish and other drugs, 11 bottles of liquor and hundreds of cartridges during the action. He said the police also searched 2,570 houses and 299 hotels and booked 14 owners for violation of tenancy laws. Apart from, this, the DPO said that the traffic police fined 7,135 transporters and motorists for violating traffic rules.
